Starfish are found in all of the world’s oceans. Habitats range from tropical coral reefs, rocky shores, tidal pools, mud, and sand to kelp forests, seagrass meadow and the deep-sea floor down to at least 6,000 m. The majority of starfish are found in the tropical and subtropical oceans.
In temperate waters, the most abundant species occur in warm-water species such as the Pacific bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) and Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua), while the least abundant are in cold water species like the Atlantic halibut (Balaenoptera musculus), Atlantic herring (Herringus albacares), and Pacific salmon (Salmo salar) (Fig. 1).

What is the home of starfish?
Starfish are found in the deep blue sea of the ocean and shallow water as well. They are found all over the world. They can’t be found in fresh water. They are the largest of all fish and can grow up to 1.5 meters in length.
