Jug hooks are limited to 70 per boat. All fish caught on the trotlines, set hooks, and jug hooks must be returned to the water. (b) No person shall fish any of the following: (1) Jug hooks; (2) set hook; or (3) jug lures. (c) A person who violates any provision of this section commits a Class D Level 6 felony.
As used in this chapter, “jug hook” means a hook that is designed to be inserted into the mouth of a fish to hold the fish in place while the hook is being pulled out of its mouth. A jug hook shall not be used to fish for any purpose other than the purpose for which it was designed.
