Thecrawlers were cheap and easy to come by. Nightcrawlers are a very effective bait in the salt, and equally as effective as any other bait. The next day, I went back to the same spot, but this time I had a plan. I was going to lure the crawlers out of the water with a piece of driftwood, then I would lure them back into the river.
This would give me a chance to see if I could catch any of them. The first thing I did was tie a line to a branch of a nearby tree. I tied a second line around the tree and tied it to another branch. I attached a third line from the top of my head to my neck. Finally, a fourth and final line was tied around my waist.
After all of these things were in place, my plan was to pull the line out from under my chin and pull it through my mouth. Of course, this would require a lot of effort, so I didn’t do it.
