Petco’s return policy provides a refund of a fish’s purchase price only if the fish dies within 30 days of receipt. Customers will not be allowed to return live fish to the store. The customer has a terrible incentive to harm the fish in order to get their money back.
Can you return a dead fish?

Do I have to bring dead fish to Petco?

What does PetSmart do with dead animals?

Animals that pass away must be transferred to a vet that will care for them. The policy does not apply to animals that have died of natural causes, such as heart disease, cancer, or old age.
If an animal is euthanized because of a medical condition, the pet owner is responsible for the cost of cremation, burial, and transportation of the body to the veterinarian’s office.

Active Member. Petco doesn’t exchange or refund marine life. I believe they do for freshwater. I’m not sure what to do, but I’m going to try to find a way to get my pet back. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
