Non-residents are required to have a fishing license in order to fish in the public waters of the state. The following fishing regulations are in effect for the entire state: No person shall operate a motorboat on a public waterway unless he or she is accompanied by a person who is at least 18 years of age and who holds a valid license issued by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
Persons under the age of 18 are not permitted to operate motorboats on any state or federal waters, except as authorized by federal law. All boats must be equipped with a lighted lantern or other means of signaling to indicate to other boats that they are being operated on the water. A person operating a boat in violation of this section is subject to a fine of not more than $100 for a first offense and $200 for each subsequent offense.
This section does not apply to the operation of a recreational vessel in accordance with the laws of another state, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
